In the Qur'an, the Almighty says: Translation: And the Almighty taught Adam all the names (of things) and then presented all the things to the angels and said: If you are truthful, tell them their names. Happened? The Almighty, in a special knowledge, bestowed on Adam (peace be upon him) the superiority and greatness over the angels and this virtue does not belong to the angels either.

He said that he should tell Adam (peace be upon him) all the names of all his descendants, all the animals, earth and sky, mountains, water, land, horses, donkeys, vessels, animals, birds, angels, moon, etc., all small and big things. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “It is the duty of every Muslim man (woman) to acquire knowledge.” He wants to convey that the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) are the true knowledge, and that it is the guarantor of the true well-being and success of mankind.
